San Francisco: Landlords evict locals to convert to AirBnB

According to this report, AirBnB short term rentals have significantly tightened the housing market in San Francisco. A study by the SF Board of Supervisors suggests that, in areas popular with tourists, 20 - 30% of rental units have been converted to full-time short term rentals. This does not include units where the owner resides and rents out a room or occasionally rents the entire residence out.
